Technology systems for Multi-purpose Hall: Svetlost Teatar, Belgrade

With 3600m2 surface area for different Sport and Performance events and a capacity of 20.000 visitors, Belgrade Arena is one of the biggest venues in Europe.

The multi-functional design, developed by Svetlost Teatar, has to solve the problem of providing powerful mechanical support from the roof area to cover all possible events, but at the same time to be under the roof load limits.

The main concept is to split the dynamic load through horizontal and vertical movement over the circle rail cranes, dividing the space into nine areas, with additional towers suspended in the maximum permitted point load of the roof, as well as nine, one inside each crane center, 2t point hoists.

The towers and point hoist winches were fixed on the roof level at 36m, all installations were mounted via truck cranes since scaffolds with such dimensions could not be installed.

Svetlost Teatar delivered and installed the Mechanical system which consists of:

  •   9 Circle rail way Cranes with diameter of 11m
  • 36 Horizontal drives with speed of 16m/min
  • 36 BGV1 Chain hoists, travel height 34m
  • 32 Two-level towers, travel height 34m
  • 9 Point hoists
  • Total 113 mechanical units, motor driven, with variable speed.
  • Control cabinets, Server, Drive Cabinets, Main Control desk in the Control room, 4 hand held controls
